Hi, I'm Kelly Boulé, a holistic hypnotherapist and wellness coach, and I've been practicing in the Kansas City area for over 21 years, and today I would like to talk to you about how you can use hypnosis to de-stress and de-clutter your mind.
So one of the things that hypnosis is really, really helpful for is reducing stress in your body. It could help you to relax your breathing. It can help you let go of distractions and really just go more in your mind and get focused, especially on those things that are really important to focus on in our day to day life, taking care of ourselves, focusing on a project at work, you know, all kinds of things.
And one of the things that I do is as a hypnotherapist is I actually help my clients in hypnotherapy and teach them how to do self-hypnosis. So when a client comes in on their very first visit, that's one of the things that I do while they're in hypnosis, is teach them how to do self-hypnosis. So what that does for them is not only helps them to really get that reinforced when they leave a session, that they should do hypnotherapy on their own, too. But when they're actually doing self-hypnosis on their own, it just makes it feel a lot easier with the tools that I give them.
So, for example, I was working with this young man. He first came in to see me a couple months ago and he's had a couple of sessions for sleep. He was really having trouble settling down and getting relaxed in his mind. And in his first session, I taught him how to do self-hypnosis. And I said, you know, you can do this when you wake up in the morning and go to bed at night. You can take a few minutes between school and work just to close your eyes and do this technique. And so you start practicing it.
And he found that the more he practiced it, the faster he would feel the effects. And so he says now whenever he gets anxious or stressed about something or he has trouble winding down before sleep, he will close his eyes and do a couple of the techniques that I helped him with for self-hypnosis. And he says that now he can get relaxed almost in minutes. And it's so strong that his parents even noticed that, you know, prior to self-hypnosis and right after self-hypnosis, he's like a different kid. He just seems more relaxed. He doesn't get anxious like he used to.
So anyways self-hypnosis is a really powerful tool. You can use it for all kinds of different things. And if you have any questions about this, just comment in the thread below, if not, have a great week, you guys.
